Cenospheres are lightweight, inert, hollow microspheres composed primarily of silica (SiO₂) and alumina (Al₂O₃), typically formed as a byproduct of coal combustion in thermal power plants. These free-flowing, low-density spheres have excellent thermal resistance, low water absorption, and high compressive strength, making them valuable in a wide range of industrial applications.
Key Features
- Reduced raw materials cost
- Improved flow ability
- Reduced resin demand
- Improved insulation values
- Reduced product weight
- Resistant to resin absorption
